we were talking about heartburn today and how i used to get two scoops of hot sauce and how i only get one scoop now.

rad got two scoops and is so far heartburn free. good for him!

And in case you read these updates and not the front page, I just posted intreview with a Chipotle Star and a part two which is, in my humble opinion, awesome.

crispy pork tacos in boulder

one of the main line workers at this location seems to have started to recognize me. that’s always nice.

they changed the menu so that crispy tacos now means 3 of them instead of 4 but they have also widened up the tacos to hold more fillings. i’m curios if that will impact the nutrition information sheet.

This store has a shelf under the bar area which makes it easier to use if you have a purse or book.

Also, my parents believe that this store gives a different amount of food compared to belleview and colorado stores. belleview store apparently giving the most. so, we brought in a letter scale and weighed my dad’s bol: bol with rice, chicken, cheese, and including the aluminum top and cardboard bottom weighs 13 ounces at this store.

we’ll have to see how that stacks up against other stores.

drupalcamp goes to chipotle on pearl

we had a DrupalCamp event today at our offices and at kevin’s suggestion we went to chipotle. ahhh, that’s nice.

the trivia was about chinese philosophers and what the more popular name was for the philosopher “kung fu tzu”. well, name both chinese philosophers that you know. one of them sounds like “kung fu tzu”. so, that’s it. pretty easy question….and just about everyone got a free drink today. whoops.

chicken tacos on belleview (cherry creek rules)

i had a beer and read the westword - good times.

also, i used to live in this neighborhood when i was in high school and have many memories. one of the things i did back in high school of which i’m particularly proud (and embarrassed) was a “drive by water ballooning”. my high school had 3,000+ people in it. that’s a lot. the “cool kids” vs. “everyone else” gets amplified by the fact that in a class of 800 students there are enough people to have multiple warring cool-kid factions. creek (or cchs) was pretty amazing in that regard. lots of the “cool kids” would hang out at the starbucks on arapahoe. lots of them. they filled the sidewalk and overflowed into the parking lot. bad kids would go to the parking lot to smoke/drink. baaaad.

i didn’t really like the cool kids in high school. they were obsessed with money, cars, and looks. in a quite daring move one hot summer night my friends and i got a bunch of water balloons prepared, got in an open top jeep, turned on our best bass heavy song, and crept up real slow to the location with windows open. then we all threw our balloons and sped away as fast as we could. we heard screams from the recipients of the balloons as we sped away laughing.

last night i saw a smaller group of those same kinds of kids at 9:30 at night hanging out on the patio outside chipotle. it’s amazing how the years go by and things stay the same. seeing them last night reminded me of the story, so i hope you’ll pardon the extra trip down memory lane.

delicious chicken tacos

these crispy tacos are delicious. wtf was i doing for so long not eating them.

also, chipotle was closed yesterday. i went to dinner at the nearby il vicino which is a nice pizza place with a really great IPA, but noticed that every restaurant in this strip mall was open with the exception of chipotle. i wasn’t entirely sure why that was the case. on Cinco de Mayo (the closest thing to a Mexican independence day) Chipotle was open, but July 4th it’s closed. aside from giving a rest to their employees, i wonder what motivation there is to choose this holiday for vacation.

original chipotle crispy tacos

the original chipotle store was smoking tonight. the place was packed - line out the door - even at 9:00 at night. i wonder what their sales per store and sales per square feet and sales per $ lease looks like. i’ll bet this location is pretty good on those kinds of measures.
