Both of the guys in front of me and the guy behind me got hot plus one other salsa just like I frequently do. and i thought i was the only one who did that.

also, at noon when they are normally packed hardly anybody was in there. no wonder they had a take out special. i did see a few people getting take out while i was in there - seems to have been pretty popular.

this is the original chipotle restaurant location. even though the line doesn’t flow as well in this store, i still love eating here. a few years ago they celebrated their 10th anniversary at this store with lots of free stuff. that was fun.

i read in the economist about the approximately 12million illegal immigrants in the usa who are working and various plans about what to do in response to these 12 million people.

But it also leaves one for Mr Bush: will a new Congress, free from immediate electoral pressure, at last deliver comprehensive reform of immigration policy? Ironically for the president, who first called for such a reform in January, 2004, he may need a Democrat-controlled House to make his dream come true.

today was another delicious mistake. i asked for mild and green salsa but got mild and corn. so i asked for the green as well. all sorts of veggie goodness.

today i was feeling spicy. so i got a chicken burrito with two scoops of hot.

generally speaking i get a scoop of mild and hot and when i ask “mild and hot” i get a full scoop of mild and a little hot. but today, she gave me two full scoops of hot. hence the need for sour cream. it was delicious, but i will be paying for it in heartburn in a little while.

deliciousness. also, my dad pointed out that if you get a burrito bol and ask for it to go then the process of keeping the lid on the burrito from the line to your table melts some of the cheese for a slightly different taste. he admitted to getting a lid even when he eats in because he likes the melted cheese. that’s just crazy talk. but also pretty ingenious.

today i read the economist about some troubles in argentina with amnesty for the leaders from their military junta. it’s a tough question about what to do, but i believe the right thing to do is to move on and focus on the problems of today and tomorrow rather than the crimes from the 70s and 80s. also, note to self that i should just read the beginning, americas, europe, and special sections of the economist. the whole thing is too big, but those sections are manageable.

read forbes including an article about using a secondary stock market for ceo tenure to determine whether a board should hire/fire the ceo. it had some flaws, but I believe in the part about predictive markets providing value in general.

i walked over today taking the alley. there are lots of interesting things in the alley including a fair number of carriage houses in the middle of the block. Particularly between bannock and acoma and between 3rd and 5th - lots of space for houses in the middle of the block. and one’s for sale - i’m almost tempted to see what the inside looks like because the whole idea of living on an alley in the middle of nowhere sort of of appeals to me. it would be quieter for sure.

the bar at this location has seen a lot of action. the seats are all worn and some have partial holes in them. they just replaced the first three seat tops with new leather. it made me laugh: i wonder if the leather for the bar stools comes from free range organic cattle? maybe from pigs?

the dude in front of me in line just stood at the very head (where the tortilla gets heated) and read his mail while everyone down the line waited for him. total jackass. and he insisted on getting more veggies in his bol because it wasn’t enough the first time. listen, buddy, you get the amount of veggies that you get. come in more often, sometimes you get lots, sometimes it’s not so much. enjoy the changes and move on.
