man, what a glorious day to sit in the sun and enjoy some good conversation and eat some tacos. i got the tacos because, as as jonah feld of burritoblog.com claims tacos should have two tortillas. i’m not familiar with that concept, so i wanted to confirm the quality of the chipotle soft tacos. and yep, they’re pretty good. in addition to the bol i think the tacos will be a nice “lighter” addition to my rotation.

we talked today about how i don’t work for chipotle and how i probably should. well, as has been noted i’m just a bystander who really likes the restaurant and who wants to spread that love. it’s self serving in the end, because the more people in the world who love chipotle, the more locations they’ll build and the more i can eat it while i’m on the road. it’s also self serving in driving the demand for organic/natural foods which means less pollution and junk in our food stream which is better for everyone.

this made me recall the fateful summer of 1999. i got an internship at a big audit firm and one of my coworkers introduced me to chipotle. i really enjoyed the place even back then. i would get two scoops of the hot salsa (which now gives me heartburn). it was awesome about half way through the summer i saw that chipotle was hiring general IT interns. i’ve often wondered how my life would be different if i had found chipotle sooner and been an intern for them that summer. often. wondered.
