This might be my new favorite combo. The pepper on the carnitas in combination with the other flavors is so delicious. Also, not so many beans and rice to weigh me down. This was a brand new receipt phrase for me, which is always fun.
I got some nice photos of this location with my new camera. Mmmm...gadgets.
Anna's Taqueria? No thanks
I went to Annas Taqueria on the MIT campus the other day. Maybe the campus location isn't as good as normal locations (they never are). I stopped in because several people have claimed that Anna's is better than Chipotle. I have to say no way in hell. Start with the obvious: the menu is more limited and yet more complex. A "Super Burrito" is a "Burrito" where they add cheese and rice. OK. The cheese is a slice of cheese that is placed in the tortilla prior to the steamer. Huh. The flavors aren't nearly as complex and the overall sense was just "yet another burrito bar" instead of "awesome burrito joint". Of course though don't seem to care about revolutionizing the food industry quite like the whole "food with integrity" program at Chipotle. So...what exactly is the fascination about?
