barbacoa burrito at alameda, chat with chipotle manager and new tiles

They replaced the stainless steel around the kitchen with plain white tiles (I’ve heard these referred to as subway tiles). It’s much brighter - to the point that it feels too bright. There happened to be a Chipotle “regional manager” looking lady standing by the entry so I asked her about it. She said that it’s much easier to clean this and it is something they are rolling out as part of their new marketing style. Easier to clean sounds good to me - I’m amazed at it, but there is an industry around cleaning oil off of stainless steel in the kitchen - so that’s obviously a problem worth fixing.
