i’m tempted to tag this with “pure joy” because really, how else can you describe that smile?

that’s a delicious birthday burrito that I’m splitting with my wife.

sometimes i like to take pictures of the person taking a picture of me. it’s funny to me, but i wish that i would stop it. cause this would be a nice photo without that.

today was chipotle’s 14th birthday. I got there at 11:15 because I wanted to be sure to get there early for the crazy crowds. apparently not everyone sees today as a big event. the store wasn’t even having any promotions or anything.

i asked about it and the manager was very nice, but said they weren’t doing anything. he did have the great idea that next year (the quinciniera, a huge “coming-of-age” birthday with a big party in Mexican culture) that they should have a huge party but then said “of course, we’d have to get approval from corporate”.

dear “corporate”,

i was there on the 10th birthday and while i’m going to be in mexico next summer i’ll probably be at every other birthday. you should celebrate these things. it’s part of what keeps the “un” in your “un chain”.

we got chips and guac too. it’s my birthday tomororw, but my life partner will be teaching lessons so tonight she took me out to dinner at a surprise location. SURPRISE! it’s a chipotle that i’ve been to before a few times, but not since i started keeping track on this site.

with this entry (and the new “count of locations” feature i just added to my profile) that will be 22 locations where i’ve eaten.

tomorrow night i’m eating on colorado at U-hills with my parents and partner. yesssssssssssss.

chipotle was “born” on july 13 1993. that’s the day that the original chipotle store on evans opened up.
